1.Organization:  St Luke’s Methodist Church

 Starting Date: April 18, 2018 (if possible)  can be later if needed.

 Title: Organist / Choir director

 Job Type: Part-Time

 Minimum Education:  Must have graduated from high school and have had at least 2 years or more of organ and/or piano training. (College if applicable, but not necessary)

 Minimum Experience:  Must have played in a church setting for 2 or more years and have knowledge of service settings.

Salary: $75.00 per service and $50.00 for choir rehearsal.

 Number of weekly services: 2 per Sunday….8:30 am and 10:00 am

 Number of weekly rehearsals: 1 choir rehearsal per month and choir sings on the 2nd Sunday of the month.  Selection of other music for Sunday services is by discretion of the director.  Solo’s, duets, etc.

 Hours:  3 hrs. on Sunday’s…..1 hr. for choir rehearsal once a month…..other times will be according to the director:  ie:  practice with other singers, organ practice for Sunday services.

Ensembles:  None at this time.

Organ Description:  Rogers Electronic Organ, 34 pedals, chimes, instrumental settings, and may pre-set your own instrumentation.  Also, a fairly new Wurlitzer piano.  Wonderful to play with many, many settings, percussion, and set songs within the piano.  Wonderful instrument and can also be played for the entire service, special music, etc.

 Job Description:   Play for Sunday services or any extra services when asked…however…there are few,  rehearse with the choir once a month until they take their break in June, then come back in September…. at director’s discretion, plan for other music when choir is not singing, stay in contact with minister for any changes that you or he may want to make.  We have a fantastic minister and very easy to work with!!

 Other Information:  This is a small congregation and the majority are seniors.  The church is close to Sun City, so we do not have young people, only if they attend with parents or grand parents.  With that being said,  they are truly a wonderful group of people and are appreciative of what you bring to them musically.   I pray there is someone out there who is willing to share their God given talents to a congregation who love to sing and share their faith.  I continue to pray that God will provide that special person to take over at St. Lukes.  Thank you!!

2. The First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, located on Historic Whitefield Square (421 Habersham Street) in Savannah, is a very small but historic congregation located in downtown Savannah. There is a pipe organ, but mostly the piano is used in worship services (11AM on Sunday). Currently, there is no choir but the church hopes to start a new one.
